Warranted Conclusions
In every state, parish (county), and town, there is a group of people who come together and represent a “church”. To many, the church is the masses of denominations that worship and serve God in their own way. Some say, we can not really understand what the Bible says thereby justifying the doctrinal differences that exist. They conclude we are all going to the same place, but we are traveling down different paths. Does the Bible support such a conclusion or the facts that support this conclusion?
Notice the following passages for examination:
1. Col. 3:17 Whatever we do in word or deed we do it by the authority of Christ.
2. Acts 20:28 The church was purchased with the blood of Christ.
3. Eph. 1:22,23 Christ is the head of the church, His body.
4. Eph. 5:23 Jesus is the saviour of the body, the church.
5. Eph. 3:10,11 The church is the eternal purpose of God.
6. John 14:6 Jesus is the only way, the only path.
7. Matt. 7:13,14 One way leads to life, the other to death.
8. Gal. 1:9 We are not to preach any other Gospel than that which was preached in the first century.
9. Jude 3 It was delivered once and for all time, it is complete.
10. James 1:25 It is the perfect law of liberty.
Notice the Conclusions Warranted:
1. The church was not an afterthought of God. If the church was an afterthought, then god is not all knowing, which means He is not God. The church was a part of God’s eternal scheme (Eph. 3:10,11).
2. Part of the that scheme was sending Jesus to die for our sins wherein he purchased the church with His blood that was shed (Acts 20:28).
3. It is only logical for Christ to have authority over that for which He gave His life. Since this is the case, we must abide by His authority for all that we do and say because His way is the only way (Col. 3:17, John 14:6).
4. Since His way is the only way, we dare not preach any other way (Gal. 1:19).
5. Any other way will lead us down the path of destruction that many will follow (Matt. 7:13,14).
6. We have the way, and we can look into that way to know what we are supposed to do. If this was not the case, then it would be impossible to be a doer of the word (Jude 3, James 1:23,25).
