Invite, Invite, Invite
Undoubtedly, after hearing what the Bible has to say concerning each member working together to help the church grow, this question has entered into not a few minds, “What can I do”. While this question may not be asked sincerely, the following answer applies to all inquiries. You can easily help by inviting someone to hear the word of God proclaimed.
Cornelius called together his relatives and close friends after being told to send for the apostle Peter who would instruct him on what he should do as pertaining to salvation(Acts 10:5,6,24). We are left to conclude, as a result of those who heeded the invitation of Cornelius, some, if not all, obeyed the gospel(Acts 10:47,48).
When we invite others to the worship assembly, we are opening the door of opportunity for the hearing and obeying of God’s word. Now, it goes without saying that not all will accept the invitation given to assemble. It is not our duty to force anyone. It is, however, our duty to afford them the opportunity to come. So, do not allow discouragements to stop you from inviting when those whom you invite do not show. Just remember the part you actually must fulfill. While it is painful to see God being rejected, we must continue to do our jobs less we be found guilty of the same.
If you have ever asked yourself why other religions prosper and we seem to be setting in ruins, the answer is, without a doubt, they invite others to their assemblies.
In order to help further the borders of the kingdom, we must, as did Cornelius, invite our relatives and friends to come and hear the word of God. In doing so, we help the spreading of the gospel and perhaps the saving of a soul.
